The watchmaker

Reuben Schoots is a self-taught, Independent Watchmaker based in Australia. His passion for mechanical objects began in his youth when he, alongside his father Pieter, undertook the restoration of a 1961 Triumph Tr4. Reuben's interest in working on, modifying and driving cars continues to this day. After discovering watchmaking during a period of prolonged illness, he began his journey to become a watchmaker by studying the George Daniels method. Over a period of two years, he made a tourbillon pocket watch from scratch, the watch designed by Daniels himself. With an unwavering dedication to his craft, Reuben has gained recognition for creating high-end handcrafted timepieces. As watchmaking is not traditionally practised in Australia and Reuben is self-taught, he is not limited by conventional practices, and brings a unique perspective to his work, blending both traditional and modern techniques. Whether you are a collector, connoisseur, or simply appreciate fine horology, Reuben's watches are truly intended for those who care.
